In the frames of improving the situation of sanitary nodes of school and preschool educational institutions in the Republic of Armenia, ready-made universal solutions for educational institutions clustered according to various criteria have been proposed. For the buildings that have not been reconstructed over the past three decades and are seismically vulnerable, it is proposed to use a temporary mobile model.
The logic of the mobile model assumes a free-standing external building made of containers with external dimensions of 6 m x 2.4 m. For educational institutions with up to 60 students or children, a single container with a male and female toilet and a sink and one accessible toilet for disabled people and adults are proposed.
For educational institutions with more than 60 students or children, not exceeding 210 students the second additional container is attached, where another set of male and female toilets can be installed.
It can be installed above the ground level (45 cm from the ground level) or on the ground level, depending on the terrain and the quality of the soil.
The roof can be equipped with solar panels for self-sustainability. There is also a technical room where a water tank for graywater reuse, a tank for clean water, water pumps, electric heaters and other technical devices are installed.
The proposed model is adapted for people with disabilities. Regardless of the codified number of cubicles, each model has a separate cubicle adapted for people with disabilities. Considering that in educational institutions there is a need for a separate sanitary unit for adults: teachers, educators, administrative and technical workers and parents, it is proposed to consider double use of accessible toilets for adults.
