Areni village is one of the most captivating areas in Armenia with its famous grape variety and St. Astvatsatsin Church nestled in a natural and cultural site.
While the kindergarten is in the central part of the village, it is on the fringe of the construction area of the residential apartment blocks. The goal of our approach was not only to integrate the kindergarten into Areni’s picturesque landscape, but also to make it a coherent continuation of the residential houses. The hall of the kindergarten will serve as a community cultural center.
The adjacent public park will further contribute to perceiving the kindergarten as a community gathering place.
